If you're going to get a PS2, though, you might as well get all SH games that are worth it 1-4. The fix is REALLY simple : in PCSX2 go to 'Config' then 'Emulation Settings' then uncheck. I think a slim from Sony on Amazon was around $400, and from other sellers it was stupid high too (I have one, lucky me lol). Hey all, I've finally found a fix to the glitched cutscenes of Silent Hill 2 while running it in PCSX2. Get a fat PS2 if you get one because the slim is fucking rediculous in price right now. Then, if none of that works, or it's not solid, I would just say to get a PS2 and SH2 for PS2, or if you have an xbox, xbox 360, or xbox one, remember that the game is on xbox (original) and I'm pretty sure it's backwards compatible with all of those consoles. i can skip these and keep playing but can't see. so i decided to try SH2 out after watching a lot of positive reviews and claims that its the 'best horror game of all time'. Explanation: The PC version of Silent Hill 2 hates multi-core systems.

Of course, if your PC is really good, you could just emulate the whole thing in software mode. I have Some problem that bgm often loops and stop cutscene graphics after sound loop. Issue: The game lags horribly /cut-scenes freeze / there's an insane delay between pressing buttons and actions occurring. On PCSX2 you can set an option that goes to software mode when on a cutscene. Even then though, I hope you have a decent PC.
